These really are the BEST beaches in CA!

As a native Californian and lifetime beach lover I've visited every one of the 20 beaches listed in this book, and I must say he did a really nice job describing each one. Mark did pick the absolute best 20 of of the hundreds of amazing beaches that California has has to offer. The selection of photos was spectacular. Some of these beaches I haven't visited in years, but after reading this book, now I want to go back to some of them again. If you are looking to visit any California beaches- get this book first, then decide which ones you'd like to visit. The only one (very small) nitpick I would have would be the desire to see a map of where each beach is located. Other than that, easily 5 stars, especially given the low price. 5/5 JP (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Best Beaches in California: The top 20 California beaches for a wonderful beach vacation (U.S. Beach Guides) (Kindle Edition) As a native Californian and lifetime beach lover I've visited every one of the 20 beaches listed in this book, and I must say he did a really nice job describing each one. Nice upgrade from the original iPhone 4 Defender case

I used the original Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone 4s, and while it worked ok, this version is a definite improvement. The hard plastic case and the screen protector seem to be the same as the original, other than having larger cut outs for the camera/flash and the front camera/light sensor/proximity sensor area. I never had issues using the 4s camera with the older version case, but I did with the proximity sensor and this case fixes that issue. The holster has been changed to update the release mechanism. The tab that holds the phone in the holster has been shaped differently in order to make the phone easier to clip in and release. The biggest upgrade is to the rubber jacket that fits over the plastic case. The rubber seems to be of much higher quality. It has a firmer, more substantial feel, and doesn't seem like it will lose shape over time. It gives the case a better grip in your hand and generally feels more solid overall. The opening for... 4/5 K. Myers (United States) - See all my reviews, October 31, 2011

Works great with a verizon iphone 4! UPDATED, AND NOW 4S!

Seems that some AT&T stores have stocked these on their shelves a little earlier than most stores, so I grabbed one and put it on my iphone 4 right away. (Verizon iPhone 4, not 4S)As far as form and fit goes, it's really similar to the current iphone 4 defender series, the major differences are the cut outs for the front and the back. Also to make note, these cases work on ALL models of the iPhone, whether you have a sprint, verizon, or AT&T model, they'll all work.Otterbox's old defender series didnt properly work with the white iphone 4 due to the location change of the proximity sensor. People would be dialing with their cheek, ear, face, etc because the screen wouldnt shut off. Now with the larger cut out, otterbox has fixed this issue and made the case truly work with all models of the iphone 4/4S, both white and black.Otterbox has also changed the rear camera opening to be one huge opening. This is because of some complaints of the flash... 5/5 J.F. I wish there was something a little better

This box is fairly good overall but it has a couple major irratating factors that may well be a buying point for many of you so I wanted to talk about a couple things that don't get mentioned very often.+ Great Protection and pretty much the best case if you want ideal protection for your iphone 4s from drops on the concrete / outdoor working environment. That's why i got it.- The screen cover is a thin layer of plastic that when sitting on top of the iphone creates a 'film' illusion where if you have good vision you will see a hazy layer. I think it's because there is a small space between the case's layer of plastic and the iphone's face that bends the light. Its quite annoying to me. I would prefer no plastic at all on the screen front and use a stick on clear protector over the iphone face.- The headphone jack is closed by a plastic piece that lifts up but it's annoying to have to fiddle with it to put in headphones.- The case... 3/5 Marky Mark "Mark" (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) It's OK

I got this for my daughter who is six years old. She claims to "love it" - but I can already tell that it is rather simplistic for her. She prefers the more exciting games such as Barbie Detective or Barbie Explorer. I don't think this will keep her interest for very long, once she has tried out the various games such as sand castle building, etc. 3/5 Lark (Eugene, OR) - See all my reviews = Fun:, January 21, 2011

    Little grand-daughters love it

My husband bought this game used several years ago and my grand-daughter age 2.5 yrs. loved it and is requesting to play it all the time, she is now 4 3/4 yrs.old. Her sister also started playing it at age 2.5 yrs. and also loves playing it weekly, she is now 3.5 yrs. old. I am age 62 and love playing it with them, especially the sand castle building and the underwater picture taking game. I am currently looking to buy another copy if I can find one as this one is worn out. 3/5 R. Hernandez (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews, November 16, 2010

Fun, but will lose interest quickly

My 6 (almost 7) yr old got this game for Christmas, and she loves it. However, I can see that some of the games are getting old already. I don't see this as a game that she will want to play over and over for a long time. 4/5 0, December 30, 2002

I came across this item by accident, bought it, and think it is one of the best investments I've ever made. This guy is a genius. If this DVD could be marketed in pill form, we'd all be stress-free. If you love Florida, and more specifically, its beaches, you MUST buy this DVD. I would never have believed that watching something on television could be this relaxing, but I do now. The scenes are nothing short of breathtaking, and the colour is just amazing. The only sounds are of the waves...no tinkling music or faux bird calls. You have the option of watching the beaches with or without the subtitles as the locations change, so if you see a scene and think you must go on your next trip south, you can see what beach the segment was shot at. Bahia Honda, here I come! To sum it up in a nutshell, this DVD is a must-buy for beach lovers, especially to 'tide' you over until your next visit. 5/5 hecallsmebeachgirl (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews This review is from: Vol 10. Florida Beaches

If you love Florida you will love this dvd.It takes you on the beaches of Jacksonville,Keywest,Panama City and other places in Florida.Florida Beaches features some of everything gulls, boats, lighthouses and there is even a rainbow shown on one of the days. The sailboats and lighthouses are on day 5 On Panama City Beach and Day 6 on Jacksonville. The wave action is mostley the lapping kind although it seems just a little bigger on Panama City and Jacksonville. The video is sharp on this disc. The beaches of Florida look good. You can really see the blues come out in Panama City's beaches(ocean)and the whites of the waves look good. The sunsets are fabulous. Each day has a beautiful sunset. On some shots the water looks orange due to the sunset reflection. My favorites are Jacksonville and Panama City Beach but I like all of them.Make sure you go into the menu and cut on the beach subtitles it will tell you what island you are on of Jacksonville,Clearwater etc.Just like with the other waves... 5/5 Jeff Carter (Perry, Ga United States) - See all my reviews, December 16, 2004

Good, but has much more potential

I won a preview copy a few weeks ago and we tried it out. It can be played either with or without the balance board, though I think it would not be as entertaining without the board. You start out with a selection of about 15 player "avatars" to choose from and have to base your look off them. you have the option of a tutorial before each of the events, and a choice of difficulty, though I did not notice too much diference between easy and difficult settings. The water mechanics (physics) are better than most games in that you can drift more realistically off course, depending on the waves and your speed. The trick are performed with different button combonations and wiimote gestures. Between my wife and I the game was played for the first week and has sat most unused since, as we have both gone back to the Wii Fit or other games. I think this game has a LOT of potential, but seems as if it was rushed into production too quickly. It... 2/5 C. Derico (SLC, UT, USA) - See all my reviews, June 29, 2010

    Fun Island Vibe!

The thing that really appealed to me about this game is that it is compatible with the Wii Balance Board, but you do not have to have one to play this game. I will say though it will not be nearly as much fun without the Wii Balance Board, but it is still fun. The game is really easy to set up, just pick your character and clothes then start exploring. There are 8 games to choose from but within each game is different levels, I am still on Easy! A few of the games are similar but I didn't mind as there really are only so many ways to stand and move with the Wii Balance Board. I really liked the Ski Distance Jumping and my sons thought it was cool to watch. The dancing, both Hulu and Fire, were fun and challenging and definitely my next favorites. By playing each game you obviously get ranked but you also earn sand dollars to buy items and unlock levels within the Surf Shack. You can play up to 4 players with this game but so far no one has had the chance to play with me so I... 3/5 Cherise Kachelmuss "Mom and More" (IL) - See all my reviews, October 20, 2010

    summer fun

I got this game a few days ago-it's a fun bargain game for the price (I paid $20). So far, my favorites are slalom skiing, surfing, & fire dancing. The surfing is more like trying to collect the sand dollars. My other complaint is that once you get a new board or water skiis or whatever equipment-it's for appearance only-it does nothing to increase your skills on that sport. It's not very challenging even on the hard difficulty, so maybe it's better for kids than adults. Overall, it's a fun game-but I'm not sure how much replay value it has. 4/5 Lisa A. Fun Vehicle with Lots of Features, Toddler Challenges

My impressions of this vehicle were positive the moment I took the vehicle out of the box, and the more I looked at the vehicle the more impressed I became. This mobile home has lots of features and bright colors, perfect for toddlers and younger children. The vehicle has a couple of minor issues that may present challenges for younger toddlers. The vehicle does require some minor assembly. The luggage rack needs attached to the top of the vehicle using three Phillips head screws. Another Phillips head screw goes into the bottom of the vehicle into the driver's seat. Note that the screw on the bottom goes into the seat at an angle. As with the luggage rack on top, the intent of the screw on the bottom is to hold the front portion to the rest of the mobile home. A ladder attaches to the side of the mobile home via a series of snaps. As with the screws on the top and bottom, the ladder is yet another mechanism that holds the front part of the mobile home to the rest... 5/5 Lonnie E. Better than expected

I wasn't sure what my 3-year-old granddaughter would think of this. As far as I know, she doesn't really know what an RV or camper is, and since she already has a deluxe Loving Family dollhouse, I thought the mobile home might rank a poor second. It turns out the opposite is true. She immediately peopled it with some of her Loving Family dolls (be warned, there are no play figures included) and has continued to play with it every day for nearly a month now. I wasn't too impressed with the small beach-scene mat, but she likes it and makes up stories about the things the people are doing at the beach, even insisting that I help one of the baby dolls use the duck float that's actually only a picture on the mat. She loves to open up the sleeping areas and put everyone to bed, and as a recent graduate of potty training herself, insists that everyone use the realistic bathroom before bed; the lift-up toilet lid was a hit, but she did comment that she wished the toilet had a... 5/5 Aderyn (Small-Town Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews, November 9, 2011

Play house when away from home

I didn't think my daughter would really like this toy so much, but it has provided her with hours and hours of play time fun. First, it functions sorta like a doll house--since it has all the trappings such as furniture, bedroom, kitchen, picnic bench, living room, bathroom with functional toilet seat, etc. Then, it functions like an automobile since she puts her dolls in it and "drives" to the grocery store, to the beach, to the camp ground, to school, back to the real doll house home again, etc. I guess this should be obvious, since a mobile home is exactly that--vehicle and house in one. I just didn't think that putting them together in toy form would also be as efficient and make play so flexible. There is a little assembly involved. I didn't find the directions until well after I had the toy assembled. So, it's pretty straight forward to snap together (but you should know that you lift the driver's seat and snap the front and back of the vehicle together, then... 5/5 LawyerMom (USA) - See all my reviews, October 23, 2011

    Great tent!!!

I saw some tents on Amazon while looking for something else, so started reading the reviews and the specs - this one caught my eye because of its easy setup and takedown and I am so glad it is the one I chose! We took this tent to the Emerald Coast this October. I did watch the included DVD before the trip for the hint on how to close it easily, and it was a snap. I loved that there were no poles to deal with, no setup at all except for unzipping the carry-bag and then having my 4-year-old shovel the sand into the pockets for weight. There was a decent breeze coming off the Gulf, and the tent just sat with no problems. The size is nice. We had one low chair for an adult, another adult on a towel, and my son had plenty of room still to dig and build.I liked that there was no floor - while my little guy was working on his sand castles he was not getting a burn. We came home from a week at the beach, both of us fair-skinned, and no burn at all - this tent was... 5/5 K. D. Freeman "KDenise" (Marietta, GA USA) - See all my reviews, October 15, 2009

first of all, I NEVER write reviews. it's not that I don't like to share thought, it's just that I buy so many things and usually just read the reviews and count on the people. and then i get the item i ordered, and go on with my life. but this is something i had to find time to sit and write. so here it goes:upon a weekend on the lake (that has a sea sand shore) and the fact that i have a baby and a toddler (4 months and 2.5 yo) I needed something to help out with the sun. last vacation on the beach, the baby spent all her time in the stroller or on a towel on the sand and we had to shield from the sun with shade of stuff we had around (chair, towels, stroller) - not much fun. for this conning weekend i searched allllll around the internet and saw many cabanas and tents and half tents, with floor, without floor, and this one just popped.first - it has no floor (r u kidding me? floor on the beach? do u know how hot it gets?? ) so the toddler can definitely have some... 5/5 Adishaits - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A Video review of the Shade Shack

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:35 MinsThe Shade Shack is the perfect addition to your beach outing... with one major caveat. If you on a beach with greater than a 10MPH (maybe up to 20MPH) you are are likely to be disappointed. While the Shade Shack sets up in a snap if you have a stiff breeze it turns into a rather large kite (See the video). However, if you are on a nice rather calm beach this makes the perfect retreat from the hot sunFeatures- Side air vents/windows that can be left up or down- Uses sand to weigh the tent to the ground- Optional stakes for windier days- Easy to pop-up (see video_- Easy to f0ld up (unless it is windy)- Easy to store - about the same size as your typical car shade- A sand magnet be prepared to have sand everywhere you store the Shade Shack unless you take extra precautionIt is mentioned in the video, but it is worth repeating ALWAYS keep the direction with you, because trying to fold this... 4/5 Charles Evans "Call me Kevin" (North Carolina) - See all my reviews, August 14, 2011
