Vaccinating your pet may do more harm than good. Automobile leasing companies: #7. You call it an odometer; we call it a cash register. Tax preparers: #4. What are my qualifications? Well, I'm real good at Sudoku. Nursing homes: #1. We're careless about the drugs we give out. Cruise lines: #2. Our engines break down all the time. Gourmet grocers: #3. This bottled water is actually tap water. Lawyers: #4. You could win your lawsuit and still wind up with nothing. Plastic surgeons: #1. I trained a whole weekend to learn this procedure. The book outlines what you don't know, then arms you with insights, tips, and techniques to make sure you get the best in every area of your life. Health, education, insurance, finance, automobiles, goods and services, food and drink, free time-it's everything you literally need to know to save not only money, but also potential headache.

Amazing customer service after a break

Loved it for a few days, deadly accurate. Took it on one trip it shorted out, blinking on and off and it's unable to weigh anything because it blinks and off every second. Not the battery, a short somewhere, defective. When it worked it worked beautifully-it's going back.FOLLOW UP:A follow up to my review here-amazing company, the owner of EatSmart contacted me immediately after seeing this review saying "they would put a tested replacement in the mail Monday" for me. (It was a weekend to boot.) GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!As I said the product worked great but broke, it was just a bad unit, could happen with any purchase. What doesn't happen normally is for a company to reach out to a consumer and fix a problem. I am an EatSmart fan now-they stand behind their products and deliver great customer service -something that is increasingly absent in most of our lives. Buy this scale! 5/5 John W. Extremly Accurate

I picked this item up at the same time I was purchasing a Eat Smart bathroom scale. The following week one of my family members was traveling so I weighed the suit case on the Eat Smart bathroom scale it it said 49.0 lbs.I then weighed the same suit case using the Eat Smart Precision Luggage Scale and it showed 49lbs also. When you are right below the 50lb threshold it is very important to have the weight correct. When the same suit case was weighed a few hours later at the airport it weighed in at 49.1 lbs so this luggage scale was right on the money. It is very easy to use and only takes a few seconds to register the item being weighed. If you travel at all and want to avoid the over charges for bags in excess of 50 lbs this scale is a real money saver 5/5 Captain Kirk (3rd Rock From The Sun) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Don't fly without it.

Flying has become a nightmare lately, especially internationally. All carriers have various luggage size and weight restrictions, and as overweight surcharges have become another source of revenue for airlines many carriers have started enforcing them rigorously. There's nothing worse than getting to the airport and being told that the suitcase it took you hours to squeeze shut is just two lbs too heavy, and you have the choice to either leave something behind or pay a surcharge.Of course, you always have the option to use your bathroom scale to weigh your luggage; it's cumbersome, and unless you have one of those fancy scales with a remote screen, by the time the suitcase is on the scale you can't see the dial. Besides, you're still left with the problem of finding a scale at your destination to get ready for the flight back.Enter the tiny, 5oz Taylor #8120 Digital Luggage Scale. It's basically a handle with a strap and a small LCD readout. Attach the... 5/5 esanta "esanta" (San Jose, CA USA) - See all my reviews, December 7, 2008

Very Accurate and Easy to Pack

I am very impressed by the accuracy of this scale. I tested it by lifting various known weights (dumbbells) and found that it was usually dead-on accurate, or at worst, a few ounces off. The accuracy improves with the smoothness of the lift, so you want to try to lift straight up without allowing the bag to shift as you lift. Even if the bag dose shift around a bit, the scale will most likely be well within a half a pound of the actual weight. 5/5 James (San Diego, US, Canada) - See all my reviews, January 11, 2009

Taylor Digital Scale - Works Well, But Not For Heavy Luggage

The is definitely useful and a good bargain considering the price. I don't think this works for all travelers because it simply does not feel durable enough to be used with luggage towards the top end of the 40 kg weight rating. But for those who take frequent trips with overnight bags, this will probably do the trick at a reasonable price.PROS:+ Great price for a luggage scale+ Digital read-out+ Can display weight in pounds or kilograms+ Nice simple design that is small enough to take to the airport with youCONS:- Contruction seems to be of low durability- Not well designed for use with heavier bags- Not designed for two-handed useThis unit comes in a small cardboard box. Helpful luggage weight scale

I like the ergonomic handle on this scale, as it is easy to hold while lifting the luggage off the floor. I found that on one weight it weighed the luggage about 2 pounds lighter than the airport scale did. So I think you need to give yourself about a 2 pound leeway, just to be safe. My husband used it for his luggage and it was about 1 pound lighter. However, it does help you know about what you have before you get to the airport. 4/5 Music Lover (Ooltewah, TN, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Perfect!

My whole family and I love these: so conveniently made! We used these for making sure our luggage were under the maximum weight limit, and sure enough, these are accurate measurers. My dad had me order a couple more for our relatives so now each family has at least one. This is simply a good tool to have at hand. confusing but works

In today's age of luggage fees, everyone needs to travel with a luggage scale. This one is not tiny, but reasonably small and comfortable to lift with, and extremely light. The buttons are confusing at first, but read the instructions, as the features (ie locking on the max weight) are handy. We had two 50.0 pound bags coming back from our last trip - the rest in backpacks. Money or pain of opening your suitcase at the airport avoided. 4/5 Jobba "Jobba" (San Francisco) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Worth the weight, yuk yuk

I purchased this for a trip abroad. I had to tightly limit my weight as I could only check 2 bags at 50# each and carry one at 15#s, I had scuba gear with me and would be gone for 10 days.I used this to balance out my gear between the bags. Both the large bags were ounces under 50. The airport confirmed this as theirs said exactly 50. So I would say the error was less than 1%, which is better than I thought it would be.I did take along the scale as I knew I would need it on the return. Worked like a charm. This scale paid for itself in this one trip.It is easy to operate and is not heavy as one review reported.I looked at several scales before buying this one and I am glad I did. Worth the money. 5/5 R. Wilson (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews, December 2, 2007

    My 2 cents

Functionally it works great. Some things to consider1. have to hold up- arms outstretched for (approx) 5 seconds to lock in weight and may be difficult for some (in all fairness you have to hold up the luggage with any scale like this)2. Was suprised at the weight of the scale. Assuming that the people that would be purchasing this would carry this along on their trip and that they were already close to their weight limit, I thought the company that manufactured this item would have made it lighter. 3/5 D. Williams "D Williams" (Milton, WI) - See all my reviews, May 25, 2007

    it works, but fragile

The limitations on checked in luggage overseas makes this scale really valuable. It saves you in paying the overweight charges. We used it to push the limits on our luggage by 2 or 3 pounds. Most of the time no one will charge you for that slight difference, as we were carrying fishing reels which were quite heavy. The item is very fragile and needs to be wrapped in clothing before tossing into your luggage. Also the batteries fall out, so first thing is to insert the battery and place a piece of scotch tape off the battery cover. Once that was done, it was great, converted to kg's and lb's with a push of a button, so you didn't have to calculate it by hand. Or guess the weight as you are schlepping your suitcase to the baggage check in scale. I hate it when one suit case is off by 2 lbs. and you have to move items from one suitcase to the other at the airport to prevent paying for the baggage overcharge. But this prevented it. When you return home, remember to take out the battery,... 4/5 Aunty Char - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) LS-110 Digital Luggage Scale - Easy to use and Confident Device

I travel enough to know what problematic could be to have an overweighted luggage at the check-in desk...those guys become impatient and always they try to charge you abusive rates. So with LS-110 Digital Luggage Scale I have confident about my luggage is in the right weight. It looks well. It is very easy to use and very easy to set-up. Also it has a well illuminated display with very sharp digits and a red led as indicator that the weight has been recorded. My suggestion is putting belt straight to the up direction and well fasten, then pull up in straight direction in one movement and keep the luggage elevated, prevent rotation; take two or more reading to make sure.I recommend this item to male guys and women in good shape.Unfortunately it only displays until 50 pounds and has no reference to kilos, which is very important in international flights. 4/5 eightpassenger - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Does not have a strap/Conked out after one day

The scale works fine, however the picture associated with the product shows that the scale has a strap to connect to the luggage, it does not. The scale actually has a hook, which works, but is not as stable as a strap. Sort of seems like false advertising.Reverse this, one day after buying the product, it would no longer stay on for more than 10 seconds and became unusable. 1/5 Knobber (Las Vegas) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A "Disposable" scale

I got this for our 2-week family vacation to Florida based on the decent reviews from others that purchased this unit. I tested on several items with known weight and they were within .1 lb and was very happy. Then the night before our early morning flight out when I tried to weigh the actual suitcases it started to behave strangely. Sometimes it would just turn off while I'm lifting the luggages, and other times it just wouldn't come on. I did the weighing the old fashion-way, using the bathroom scale, but I took the unit with me to play with it during the vacation. I ended up buyin a new set of batteries (it used 2032 watch batteries). It worked good at the beginning, but even though I had the switch in the OFF position, it seems to drain it very quickly.I'm not going to bother returning. I'll just have to pull out the batteries when not in use. I'd look elsewhere when it's time to replace it with a better scale unless you want to use it and throw it away when... 1/5 The Gadgetman (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I feel like I stole this

I've been doing a bunch of research on Luggage Scales, and the common theme seems to be the lack of "range" where heavy is fine, but lighter loads are quite skewed. This unit does quite awesome for lighter loads. I weighed a 3lb load (47.8oz to be exact) was identical on both this and a kitchen scale.I figured I'd push it and try for a 10oz load (9.3oz to be exact, according to my kitchen scale) and this unit clocked in at 10.3oz. A 1oz discrepancy when the load is THIS light is quite awesome in my eyes. For $6.95, I literally feel like I stole it. I love it so much that I just ordered 4 more units to spread around the house and office to weigh packages for shipment.Unlike other scales, this unit even has a handy nylon strap with a clip that securely lifts luggage by the handle.EDIT: It seems the price went up. $15 is still a pretty good deal. After a fair bit more use (including a few close calls at just under 50lbs) I should note... 5/5 death_hawk - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent!

I wasn't expecting much for $6.95 but this is an excellent product that costs at least half of what comparable units sell for. I almost feel guilty for buying it because I don't know how the seller is making any money from it.The unit is sturdily constructed and has a big bright display that turns off automatically to save battery power. I needed something with good resolution and this scale will display in grams, and to tenths of an ounce, and hundredths of a kg and lb. It also has a tare function and will auto-hold the reading if it stops changing. It even came with batteries and a cloth storage bag. 5/5 RobasaurusRex - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) handy, but be aware of accuarcy

I was very interested in how this scale would perform. The circus act of bathroom scales and the surprise of discovering your 48 lbs. at home translates to 53 at the airport became first on the list of travel stress. The unit is very compact and light weight and can easily be transported with you to ease the "second on the list" of stresses when you pack for the return flight. We did find the accuracy to be off by 2 lbs. consistently. (48=50). With that in mind I would not hesitate to use this scale or recommend it to others. 4/5 D. Great Bang for the Buck

Great for traveling. Easy to use and small enough to take when on the move. Came in handy for weighing backpacks for a trip into the wilderness areas. Will purchase more for Christmas stockings. 5/5 Dzedo - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Love this Luggage Scale!

Just used this luggage scale while on a trip and it worked great. The hook makes it easy to share this with another person while packing under a time crunch. We had a bunch of gifts for friends so of course our luggage was now way over the 50 pound weight limit. This scale helped save us from the embarrassing dance of frantically swapping items around on the floor in front of the ticket counter with a whole line of other travelers staring at us! Am now buying one for myself and friends. 5/5 Foolish Consumer (Nor Cal) - See all my reviews This review is from: New Travelon Luggage Scale Micro Digital Black Handheld (Office Product) Just used this luggage scale while on a trip and it worked great.
