    Nice camping dining set

Very nice, complete camping dining set. Good quality. Will make your outdoor dining experience by the camp fire a lot classier than just using paper plates. The flatware comes in a nice nylon wraparound holder with compartments for each piece. It would be nice if Coleman also offered some kind of backpack or duffle bag designed to hold the dishes and mugs, that would make a really nice kit or gift set. 4/5 Jackie (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) poor quality

I wanted to like this set but it is of poor quality. All of the plates/bowls/cups have a sharp unenameled ring around the lip.Two of the cups were damaged/defective. One of them had a big chip out of the rim of the cup.I love the carrying case of the silverware but the silverware has an opening where the main shaft meets the handle where food/water can enter the handle and get trapped and bacteria could grow.Returning the set. 1/5 Night Owl (MA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) love the classic campset

We have used these dishes on several camping trips. They are great, very sturdy, and are way better than paper plates. You just have to be careful when putting hot food on them, the dishes themselves get hot as well. I wish there was a carrying case for the dishes like the flatware. I bought a small tote with a lid to store them in when not in use, but also use for a wash basin when camping. It works out well. Well worth the price for what you get. 4/5 S. Lights Stay on for a Long Time

These really do stay lit for up to 20 hours. There are a lot of uses for these. We bought them for camping, but recently used them during a power outage. So far they have held up well to normal abuse as we moved them around. Also, they have held up well to the weather. The string is about six feet long and no tools are needed to replace the batteries. 5/5 Beabea (Chicago, Illinois USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great ambient light

These LED lanterns give off great ambient light. Can probably read by them tho I would want more light. not a good product

I attempted to use this item on my camping trip and it proved to not be usefull at all. The sides of the wash basin do not stay up so you can wash the dishes and keep all of your water in. When we used it the sides were always colapsing whether there was a lot or a little water in the basin. I will not be using this item again. most likely throw it away. 1/5 R. L. Rodriguez "Mom" (California) - See all my reviews, August 5, 2005

    Worthless item

My husband used this when camping. After the hot water was poured in, the basin became very soft and pliable. After about half way through washing dishes the first time, a hole came in the rinse side. He did not get one whole load of dishes washed. He expected better from Coleman. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT!! 1/5 N. Jennings (WV) - See all my reviews, May 8, 2008

    Just what I needed

Now that the kids have move out we sold the mini van and downsized to a tiny two door hatchback. This meant that we had to downsize our camping gear. The one thing that we thought would be hard to downsize were the wash basins. They are just so big to pack....or so we thought!! Thank goodness we found the Coleman folding double wash basin. It folds flat and pops up to a reasonable size for doing our camp dishes. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the plastic carry bag is as small as they could possibly make it which makes putting the basin away rather difficult. Too bad they didn't spare a bit more on a decent carry bag. 4/5 B. Mclongstreet (California's central coast) - See all my reviews, May 20, 2007

Simple, easy to use, and yummy!

I like grilling to be an authentic outdoor experience. That means saying no to the gleaming stainless steel grills that are the size (and price) of my car. I like this one because it's as basic as they get. I start a fire, set the grill above the coals an hour later, and it's ready to go. No, it's not fancy, but it does a great job. My only complaint is that the rotisserie spit has only one skewer, which makes it hard to balance a whole chicken. If there were three or four spears, it would hold the fowl more firmly. For the price, it's a great deal. 4/5 A. J. Weaver "antbib" (South Carolina) - See all my reviews, November 1, 2007

    A great old Western feel

This is a great grill if you want to feel the old Western backwoods feeling of little house in the prairie days. It keeps the meet high off the fire while keeping a tender and moist. Multi use makes this a fun camping accessory. While it is a little cumbersome to bring along you and your guests will enjoy the taste of your food as well as the feel of olden days camping. 4/5 Jaci Rae "Jaci Rae jacirae dotcom Money Savin... Works Great and is a lot of fun

I took this camping over a long weekend and was very glad to have it. It fit nicely inside the standard iron camping ring at our site. Hot Dogs and Burgers came out great as did the two beef roasts I made on the spit. The only thing that was a bit of a hassle was trying to cook chickens on the spit. The spit has only one stabilizing rod on it and that is fairly close to the center rod. The chickens would just flop around on the spit while I turned it to the next position. I tried filling up the cavities with onions but that didn't help. The chickens came out great and everyone was very surprised by how juicy the chicken was, it was just a hassle to get these chickens to turn just enough each time, especially while camping (raw chicken all over my hands). I had no problems with the beef though. The beef was easy to roast and turned out amazing. I just Speared the beef and then placed the whole thing on the cooking grate to sear the outside and then I put it all into the spit roast... 5/5 J. Excellent value and works great!

I received this today, and it works great. I would suggest using the back (non-serrated) edge of the steel to shave the magnesium and the serrated edge for striking the flint. The magnesium block and flint both have some kind of coating, so the first time you use it it'll take a few extra tries. I've seen these selling for double or triple the price and people were happy to pay it, so this is an excellent deal! 5/5 Mikhail in AZ (Vail, AZ, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Handy and good for the price

I bought this along with the Swedish Firesteel to test them out. I like this product due to the fact that you can shave the magnesium off and use it to start the tender, however I found that the flint was difficult to use and did not put off much spark. It did spark, though. The swedish firesteel throws of a much bigger and hotter spark and was much easier to use, however if you do not have good tender it doesn't matter much. I think that having both of them together is good and they are both are a relatively inexpensive purchase if you consider how valuable they are when needed. 3/5 donpedro - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This package from Coleman, consisting of (1) a small broom and dustpan, (2) four aluminum stakes, (3) a rubber-headed mallet and (4) a stake remover, definitely falls in the second category.(1) Broom and dustpan -- small, plastic and green, this just might get the most use out of anything in the package. Not much to say here -- it does its job. The stakes are much longer and sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. They are essentially giant nails with a green plastic head attached for the line to tie onto. Nice little kit

Handy little kit to have for camping. The stakes are quite nice and really saved us when our cheap stakes couldn't hold down the tent. The tent puller also is a time saver. My only complaint is that the bag is simply too small. I couldn't get the brush/pan out without tearing up the small bag. Otherwise it is a handy addition. I'll use the bag for more stakes that I'll be buying.Edit: June 23,2007. I'm starting to question the rubber hammer. We tented in a very rocky area and the rubber hammer worked, but a heavy duty steel hammer is really the best choice. I won't tent again without a high quality hammer. Still, the stakes are excellent. 4/5 Kent Vaughn (El Paso, TX USA) - See all my reviews, June 10, 2007

    Handy to have!!

This is really handy to have on hand when camping! The extra stakes are a nice plus, and actually nicer than the ones that came with our tent. I'm not sure why this has only gotten a 4 star review from others.

I bought one and am waiting for another. It works exactly as it should and is very strong. I was also amazed at the knife's sharpness. It is not serrated but has a razor thin and very sharp edge. You'll have to keep sharpening it but that is even better than serrated knives because it can be kept very sharp. If you aren't prepared, you may think that this "falls apart" when it separates. But this is simply so that the knife and fork can be used together as they naturally are at home. Unlike plastic, this one won't break when cutting food and won't melt when stirring coffee or tea (who wants melted plastic in tea or coffee?)In fact, if you had a very small apartment with a shortage of kitchen drawers, you could easily stow these in a tin. Besides camping trips, this would work very well for eating lunch at your desk while at work. It is also fun for surprising visitors who think this is some kind of Swiss army knife. Should be included in an emergency kit for... 5/5 K. Corn "reviewer" (midwest, United States) - See all my reviews, July 12, 2010

    Great for the price but...

I have been looking for an affordable fork, spoon and knife combination for camping. Many seem to be way overpriced for a set of fork, spoon and knife($15-20).This came to my attention as the cheapest choice. The finish and quality is not great but very acceptable for less than $4.With some sharpening, the knife can be used as a steak knife. What I didn't like (minus one star) was the oil used for lubrication. Be sure to remove it before the first use.It smells like chemical lubricant similar to WD40.To remove the oil, I kept mine in hot water with some detergent over night.-----(Updated on Sept 14, 2010)Disappointment.Exterior panels, spoon, knife and fork are all made with stainless steel, but some internal plates seem to be rusting only after few use and clean-ups. Even with rusting, it is still usable, but I have to admit it looks awful. (minus one star) 3/5 J. Jun (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews, August 17, 2010

Good product, but larger people, take care before buying

As everyone else pointed out, the frame is very well built, and the bag it comes in is a bit flimsy. My one complaint, was that it has 225 pound weight limit- not 250 as the product description points out. It's right on the tag on the hammock. The frame may hold 250 pounds, but the hammock does not. I'm about 230, and have yet to break it, but just throwing that information out there for any heavier folks. Also note that the product comes with no literature other then what is written on the hammock tag. It's pretty idiot proof to put together though. One other note, it's not that great for taller guys either. I'm 5'11, and my feet almost dangle off a bit. Just got it & love it!

Don't let the low price fool you. This does not feel like a cheap, about-to-fall-apart hammock! In fact, it's kinda heavy duty. I just got it today, set it up, and took a nap in it. I love the mesh center- lets air flow around you very nicely. Everything about it seems great. One person can set it up, take it down, and re-bag it with ease. I'm gonna love using it for days in the mountains, camping trips, etc. I'd have given it 5 stars, but I've had it less than 24 hours, so I wanted to be a little conservative. I may drop back in after a couple of months of using it and update this. 4/5 cindy a - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Portable Folding Hammock (Misc.) I'm gonna love using it for days in the mountains, camping trips, etc. I'd have given it 5 stars, but I've had it less than 24 hours, so I wanted to be a little conservative. I may drop back in after a couple of months of using it and update this. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 8, 2011

Another inexpensive but good knife, great back up

Good little full tang knife , duller than dull you will spend sometime sharpening it, but is a decent knife for price. You will want to rewrap the handle with your own para cord. 4/5 buffalo1a (OR, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: 11" Full Tang Fire Starter Hunting Camping Knife W/flint (Misc.) "Potential" is the key word here.

Customer Video Review Length:: 4:20 MinsI'm not a wilderness expert, nor am I an armchair commando. I go camping and hiking on occasion; never had to kill a bear and wear its fur for warmth, but I also (hopefully) avoid talking out of my ass on things I don't know. This is just my honest review.I didn't talk about the sheath, but my video was already nearing the size limit. In short, it holds the knife. That's it. I don't really feel too confident with it just testing out how it feels to be worn, I'd probably have to overcome some apprehension to wear it if I go back out. Will let you guys know. If it ever happens. As my shirt says, "have a totally amazing day! Remember to smile!" 4/5 J. Ly - See all my reviews, February 10, 2012

    Decent Boot Knife

I would give it 4.5 stars if possible, only because the sheath is poor quality. This knife is small, but it is still a decent boot knife. The blade came fairly dull, but it sharpens easily and holds an edge about average. The sheath is poorly constructed, on the day I received it the blade had already begun to tear through the bottom. The Magnesium fire starter is surprisingly good given the price for both objects.Overall, a very good purchase. 5/5 L. Dumas "Shopping in NY" (Albany, NY) - See all my reviews, July 29, 2010

A Nice Piece of Kit, Somewhat Bulky

This is a really nice piece of camping kit, as it "clips" with the magnet to any part of your tent in seconds. (It's got a pretty strong magnet bar, which goes on the outside of your tent, and the metal bracket of the light anchors it on the inside.) At first I wondered if the tight contact of the light would cause the tent to leak, and so far the answer has been a very clear and dry no, on many tents of different fabric. The light is incandescent, inside a traditional sealed bulb. I have had no problem with the light or bulb in the 4+ years I've owned this light. The lens diffuses the light nicely, so if you put this light at the crown of your tent, you will have light throughout. My only problem with this unit is that it's kind of big and bulky. It's not that heavy, even with the four AA batteries installed, but it's kind of large. In a camping world in which we've got wind-up LED systems and increasingly smaller lights which provide more and more light,... 4/5 Sir Charles Panther "Life is hard. It's hard... Good light - not so bright

This is a pretty good tent light and reasonably priced.Pros: It's small and easy to pack. It safely attaches to the tent without causing and problems. It's easy to use. It works. Flexible.Cons: The light it gives is a bit dim. Many battery based lanterns give off much more light (although not as flexible in positioning). It's difficult to position with just one person because you have to have the magnet outside the tent and the light inside, so unless you can reach to the point outside where you want it, then you need to have someone else hold the magnet in place while you place the light inside the tent. This isn't much of a problem though.Overall I gave it 4 stars because it works and it's easy to use and low priced. It could use a brighter light, but otherwise is pretty good. 4/5 R.
